One of the common problems with the Tesla Add Driver not working is a network connectivity issue. To make sure you have a valid Tesla account as a solution for your Tesla account issues, you can follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Tesla website and sign in to your account.
  2. Click on your name in the top-right corner of the page.
  3. Select “Account Settings”.
  4. Review your account information, including your email address, phone number, and address.
  5. If any of your information is incorrect, update it.
  6. Click “Save Changes”.

Here are the steps to create or add a driver profile to your Tesla vehicle:

  1. On the home page of your Tesla’s touchscreen, tap the Profile icon.
  2. Tap Create Driver Profile.
  3. Enter a name for the driver profile and tap Create Profile.
  4. If prompted, choose to link the driver profile to your Bluetooth phone connection.
  5. To save your seat, steering wheel, and mirror positions to the driver profile, tap Save Positions.
  6. To adjust your mirrors, tap Mirrors and adjust the left and right near mirrors as needed.
  7. To adjust your steering wheel, tap Steering Wheel and adjust the in/out and up/down positions as needed.
  8. To adjust your seat, tap Seat and adjust the forward/backward and up/down positions as needed.
  9. Once you have adjusted all the settings to your liking, tap Save.
  10. Tap the X button to close the driver profile settings.

If you cannot sign in to your Tesla account, you can reset your password. Here are the steps I use to reset my password:

  1. Go to the Tesla website and click on “Forgot Password?”.
  2. Enter your email address and click “Send”.
  3. You will receive an email with a link to reset your password.
  4. Click on the link and follow the instructions to reset your password.

Solution 2: Check your account credentials.

If you are able to log in to your Tesla account but are still having problems, try checking your account credentials. Make sure that you are entering the correct email address and password. You can also try resetting your password if you have forgotten it.

Solution 3: Check your network connection.

If you are sure your account credentials are correct but still have problems, try checking your network connection. Make sure that you have a strong and stable internet connection.

  2. Search for “Tesla”.
  3. Tap Update next to the Tesla app.

To update your Tesla vehicle software as a solution for your Tesla account issues, here’s what to do:

  1. Make sure your Tesla is connected to a Wi-Fi network.
  2. On your Tesla’s touchscreen, tap Controls > Software.
  3. Tap Check for Updates.
  4. If an update is available, tap Install Update.
  5. Your Tesla will download and install the update. This may take several minutes.
  6. Once the update is installed, your Tesla will restart.

At this point, you should have sorted out the issue. But if you don’t want to go through all these steps or you’re still facing this issue, contact Tesla customer support for assistance.

2. Network connectivity issues

Solution 1: Check your physical connections.

Make sure that all of your cables and cords are properly plugged in, both at the source and at the destination. Also, check for any damage to the cables.

Solution 2: Restart your modem and router.

This can often fix minor software glitches. Restart your router, modem, and any other devices involved in your network connection.

Here’s how to restart your modem and router:

  1. Unplug the power cables from the modem and router.
  2. Wait for at least 15 seconds. This will give the modem and router enough time to power down completely.
  3. Plug the power cable back into the modem and turn it on.
  4. Wait for the modem to boot up fully. This may take a few minutes.
  5. Once the modem has booted up, plug the power cable back into the router and turn it on.
  6. Wait for the router to boot up fully. This may take a few minutes.

Solution 3: Check your network connection.

Your network connection can be problematic when adding a driver to your Tesla. Check your connections to make sure they’re properly connected.

Here are the different methods I use to reset my router:

This is the simplest way to reset your router. Simply unplug the router from the power outlet and wait for a few seconds before plugging it back in. This will restart the router and restore it to its factory default settings.

Method 2: Using the reset switch

Many routers have a reset switch that you can use to reset the router to factory default settings. To use the reset switch, simply press and hold the button for 10–15 seconds. Once you release the button, the router will restart and reset itself.

Method 3: Performing a hard reset

A hard reset is a more thorough reset than a soft reset. It will clear all of the router’s settings, including the Wi-Fi network name and password. To perform a hard reset, you will need to use a paper clip or other small object to press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds. Once you release the button, the router will restart and reset itself.

3. Tesla software issues

Solution 1: Restart your Tesla.

Restarting your Tesla is a great way to fix minor software glitches. This is what I do whenever my Tesla starts showing signs of minor software glitches.

Solution 2: Check for software updates.

One of the first things you should do if you’re experiencing vehicle software issues is to check for software updates. Tesla regularly releases software updates to fix bugs and improve performance. If there’s a recent software update, install it.

Solution 4: Restart Tesla’s infotainment system.

Restarting the vehicle’s infotainment system can often fix minor software glitches. To restart the system, press and hold the power button for a few seconds.

Solution 5: Reset the battery.

If you’re still having problems after restarting the infotainment system, you may need to reset the battery. This will clear the vehicle’s memory and reset the software.

To reset the Tesla battery, follow these steps:

  1. Drive the battery down to a low state of charge; below 10% is ideal.
  2. Leave the car parked overnight.
  3. Charge the battery to 100%.
  4. Drive the car normally.

This process will help the Tesla battery management system to recalibrate and resolve any software issues that may be causing problems.

Solution 5: Take the vehicle to a dealership.

If you’ve tried all the above methods and are still having problems, you may need to take the vehicle to a dealership. The dealership will have the necessary tools and expertise to diagnose and fix the problem.
